Generation Y refers to those born from the mid-1970s to early 2000s, otherwise referred to as the Millennial Generation, Generation Next or Generation Net. (Read more at wikipedia).
Generation Y is increasingly influenced by neo-liberal and market oriented approaches to politics and economics making them culturally more tolerant and more competitive with a perceived sense of entitlement. They have been viewed as the ultimate rejection of the counterculture of the 1960s with greater civic mindedness and a generational consensus building approach to conflict. Another major characteristic of Generation Y is greater use of multimedia, communications and digital technologies.
